Who are ELfS?

The Essex Learning for Sustainability (ELfS) Group brings together groups and individuals from across Essex who offer programmes of environmental education and Education for Sustainable Development for the benefit of schools, other groups of young people and the wider public. Together, members offer a wide range of services based at their own centres and sites, outreach and school based work and educational resources.

About the ELfS website

ELfS have created this website as a way to help schools and other education establishments find out what environmental and Sustainable Education services in Essex are out there to help them become a more sustainable establishment.

To find a group that is suitable for your establishments needs, either see the list of groups on the left hand side or go to School Visits. The locations of the ELfS groups which offer school visits are indicated on the ELfS school visits map.

Teacher Placements scheme for Anglia Ruskin Students

Essex Learning for Sustainability (ELfS) are offering a unique placement opportunity for trainee teachers.

Over a two week enrichment placement trainee teachers will have the chance to work with a number of different organisations offering environmental education. Offering an insight in to the workings of the diverse organisations and able to get hands on and involved in running family activities, sessions with schools and youth groups.
